Dr. PierLuigi Mauri

Dr. PierLuigi Mauri has set-up a proteomics laboratory based on LC-MS/MS, including the MudPIT methodology (2DC-MS/MS) and a parallel computing system for proteomics and innovative approaches. This system allows for the proteomics profiling and quantitation of biological samples, without limitations and guarantees high productivity. In addition, home-made computational tools were developed for proteomics analysis. This is applied to develop a clinical proteomics approach investigating a wide range of diseases and samples, for biomarker discovery, prediction of therapeutic treatments and characterization of related molecular mechanisms. He is deputy to lead the Italian Proteomics Community of Elixir Infrastructure, and he is involved in a number  of projects, including Boron Neutron Capture Therapy.
