Dr. Samuel Bernard
Dr. Samuel Bernard is Director of Research at CNRS and director of the materials science research federation MatV2L. He received his PhD degree in inorganic chemistry (University of Lyon, 2002), then he worked as a postdoc fellow at the Max-Planck-Institute for Metal Research (Stuttgart, Germany) on Polymer-Derived Ceramics (PDCs). He integrated the CNRS institution in 2004 and he successively developed the PDCs activity at the Multimaterials & Interfaces Lab (LMI, Lyon) and at the European Institute of Membranes (IEM, Montpellier). Since 2017, he develops his research activity – design of p-block element-containing PDCs as fibers & matrices, nanocomposites & porous components – at the Institute of Research for Ceramics (IRCER, Limoges). To date, he has co-authored more than 110 peer reviewed papers (H factor: 39), gathering > 3800 citations, and is recognized through 70 invited talks.
